Amelie
Bon voyage! An israeli premiere of the musical "Amelie" will be performed June 11th - 26th at Jerusalem's Nissan Nativ Theater, produced by Starcatcher and the Incubator Theater. With beautiful music by Daniel Messé, lyrics by Messé and Nathan Tysen, and book by Craig Lucas, the romantic comedy depicts a quirky young woman (Amélie) who overcomes her isolated childhood and sets out on a whimsical journey of self-discovery in her many interactions with the mysterious people, streets and objects of Paris. By learning to develop closer human relationships, she finds added meaning to her lonely life by taking it upon herself to help others overcome their problems.
The moving soundtrack includes some truly memorable songs such as "Times are Hard for Dreamers", "Thin Air" and "When the Booth Goes Bright" and is creatively performed by the ensemble of actors using object theater and physical theater. The production will be performed in English with Hebrew subtitles and features a live band.
